I've been singing songs from the Across the Universe soundtrack ALL day. Pat and I watched the movie a few days ago, and I'm totally hooked. When you think of the enormity of the Beatles it kind of blows your mind, don't you find? And who doesn't love a scruffy, gorgeous Brit, and how does he manage to make the mullet look sexy? Brings me right back to my Liam loving days. Seriously, one could get lost on YouTube for days straight.

I can't believe a week has already come and gone since my uncle visited! He left this morning at 6 am (and I'm quite surprised that his flight was still on considering this weather). Time really does fly, and it sure feels like my reading week is going all too quickly as well. But I have some fun things planned for the next little while, including a trip to Plattsburgh next week, so I'm looking forward to that! I have to tutor again this afternoon, which I'm not overly thrilled about, but I just want to get it over with and focus on other school responsibilities. Anyways, I shouldn't be spending too much time blogging because I'm in the middle of an assignment. I just wanted to post my photo of the day and another gem that my uncle dug out of my grandmother's dusty photo album. It's a picture of my grandmother's family - the Wallace clan - sometime in the 1950s. I'm so in love with all her old photos right now.

Yesterday was my brother's 21st birthday. Let's hope that his 21 st year on this planet brings wisdom and a sense of awakening. In any case, we had a supper for him, and my uncle Jeff, who is visiting from Calgary, got a taste of the bizarro conversations that always manage to pop up thanks to the Patrick/unlce Tim combo - a fairly entertaining evening to say the least. I am also very thankful to be feeling much better since Friday night. And in case you're wondering, I'm not at school because it's study week!! But it's not all fun and games because I still have a ton of work to do. I will be spacing it it, however, so I can at least enjoy some of my time!

You may have also noticed that I changed the template of my blog. I was inspired by Josee's updated blog, so I went to check out the Pyzam site. I think it ads a fun look to my blog! I will also get around to redoing my slide-shows sometime this week.

For now I'm off to Indigo to buy this book.

I will be taking a break from the photo challenge for the next few days because I am sick, and I highly doubt anyone wants to see documentation of vomit (since that's about the only thing going on right with me now). Yuck, yuck, yuck!

It's been a busy day and it ain't over yet. I had to tutor this afternoon at an after-school program downtown - a requirement thought up by our lovely Math teacher. It's not the tutoring per se that I mind, it's the fact that everyone was forced to rearrange their busy schedules, outside of actual class time, to go there on two seperate occasions, for three hours each!! An unfair expectation in my view, but whatever. Once I was there and actually getting through to the student I was helping (for all of about ten minutes), it was a nice experience. Oh and apparently my name is spelled like this:

At work today I was so pleased to hear (note the sarcasm) that 3 children had had a gastro over the weekend, and of course, those special 3 were still present in daycare today, apparently "all better". Well, not so, because one of them had diarrhea by mid-morning, just to top off his fit of all screaming fits that lasted, I kid you not, a good two hours. Let me tell you, if I get a gastro right now, it will not be pretty. I just can't afford to get sick again, especially not with something as icky as that. Seriously don't know what I'd do...

Anyways, at least I was able clear my head as I drove to the auto-park. I am pleased to say that I no longer have to endure the complete frustration of driving around Panama parking lot and having to staulk people coming off the bus in order to find a parking spot. Why, you ask, am I rid of this? Because I have discovered the wonder of the Chevrier bus depot. True, the buses are half an hour apart, but I now realize it's well worth the extra little wait in order to have this complete peace of mind in the middle of the day:

That's right, it's a completely empty bus - practically unheard of with the 45! I've noticed that the older I get, the more I seem to want to distance myself from the aggravation that is the public. So this tranquility really helps to put me in a good mood.

Well, as stated a few weeks ago, my workouts have been very slack lately. I've allowed myself to consider the walk up the hill my cardio, since the entire month of January was just too crazy and I couldn't hack doing anything more. I also did a lot of shoveling, and worked my arms and butt twice a week (when I could, although it was less than I like to admit). I also kept falling back on the excuse that I was constantly getting sick, which led me to back out of many grueling workouts.

But it's time to stop making excuses!

I've noticed a few extra pounds over the weekend, and that, coupled with the fact that insomnia had me glued to the P90x infomercial last night, has sparked something in my brain, and today my body is responding. This morning I did the legs and back routine, and couldn't get over how freakin' hard it was! I only stopped doing the videos for a month and a half, and BAM! It's amazing how fast you lose it. Anyways, I apologize to you Mr. Callender, my workout muse and long-lost instructor. Hopefully I have appeased you with my hard work this morning.

Seriously, where does the time go? The weekend is almost over already, I can't get over it. I've had a pretty lazy day, but I can't complain. This morning I shovelled the deck (huge, huge job that I couldn't finish all myself) and finished some scrapbooking pages for the design team contest at Scrapbook Centrale. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Besides that, I've done nothing exciting - I guess I was really in need of some down time. Pat and I will probably watch "The Bucket List" tonight, as a family friend has mysteriously given us a copy even though it's still in theaters. We've both been looking forward to seeing that - SHOCK - a movie we can both agree on for once!! Can't wait to be doing this:

What the devoted blogger I am becoming! Saturday morning and I am so happy to still be in my pjs. The whole day is in front of me and I love that I don't have to work this weekend. I have been productive - vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms last night, did yoga this morning, and completed one of my assignments. It always feels so good to cross another item off the list. I feel like scrapbooking today - I'm off to call Julie to see if she is interested.

But first, how awesome is this?

My dad is really pushing himself all the time, and I have to give him credit. A few weeks ago he couldn't even walk, and now he is tackling the elliptical. He's officially coming home next Thursday!

I'm up earlier than I normally would be on Friday because I'm supposed to be studying for the dreaded Math test this afternoon... except that it's just more fun to blog! And if I do any more of the online practice quizzes, I think my brain will turn to mush.

There is A LOT of school stuff due this semester. Lots of final projects and group projects, most of which I haven't even started yet, which perpetually worries me. I just don't have time to start them all at the moment because I'm busy doing other little assignments that are due. So annoying!! I really hope that next semester I will be able to take part in the Dillon project - a four month stage where you actually arrive in the classroom end of August, before the students get there, and you co-teach, or in some cases fully teach, and pretty much learn the ropes and get your foot in the door. There is a chance, if we are enough people, that a few schools will be added to the South Shore. I really hope that happens, because I think it would be a great experience and I would much rather be doing that than walking this everyday:

So, I've been challenged by Noémie to take one photo per day and post it on my blog! I had been intrigued to do this for some time now, but always found excuses not to. I suppose this was the little kick in the butt I needed. I don't know how good I will be at keeping this up, but I will try! I brought my camera to work and school today, so I had plenty of photo opportunities. But since it's Valentine's day, I thought I'd share this. Here are the super expensive flowers that my dad got (or rather, had me get) for my mom. I made the card for him to sign. My mom was very happy with a dozen roses, as she couldn't even remember the last time that my dad had gotten her flowers.

Hope you're all having a good day, and that you can at least find one person to hug.

I'm drooling over ALL of this. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Such eye candy, seriously. I love Basic Grey (but not so much the Two Scoops line).

In other news, my car is having problems again. Two weeks ago I had to bring it in for a few problems, and the mechanic said he thought it was the transmission. However, he ran some tests and cleaned some stuff (my car knowledge is very limited as you can see), and said that it might be okay. So I drove around for 2 weeks thinking all was good, until that menacing little check engine light popped on today. ARRGH!! Looks like I might have to fork out next to a grand for all the repairs. Or I just drive it around till it dies, but that's not a very safe or responsible option.

My school responsiblities are picking up big time at the moment, and I'm dreading all the projects I have to hand in the upcoming weeks. Thank God we have a "reading" week soon.

Well, time for me to go cuddle with my boyfriend while he finishes watching hockey. At least they are winning so he'll be happy! To me the players are really just little blobs moving back and forth on a screen. My brain just shuts off- doesn't want to process it AT ALL. But I do know some players' names, and I know the rules of the game, so I guess I'm not too shameful (right Pat???).

So you know you download too much music when you actually do own the album that you thought you didn't own (see previous post). One of my mom's all-time favorite songs is "Dreams". When I hear it it makes me think of my mom at my age, and I feel closer to her.

IT'S FRIDAY!! And I'm NOT at school because my class was CANCELLED due to the approaching snow storm. Yes! I'm catching up on cleaning, school work, working out, and various scrapbooking projects (although I've promised myself I will save that until after I have done more productive things).

Here are some layouts I've made recently. Now I must force myself to do homework.
