My Nanny is turning 86 on Saturday, but we celebrated a bit early yesterday. Isn't she just adorable?

Just gotta just say this: he's still got it after all these years. Yes, I'm currently going through a Liam obsession phase. It happens every once and again. Because "I got a habit that I just can't kick".
This 4 day weekend (minus the few dreadful hours spent working at the library on Saturday) has been so nice. I've actually put aside school work until today, and am not feeling overwhelmed and super stressed. Patrick slept over on both Friday and Saturday night, so that was really nice. Last night we had an Easter dinner at Pat's (pics to follow shortly seeing as the camera is at his house), and very shortly, i.e. in about 15 minutes, will be the Easter dinner/celebration of Nanny's birthday at my house. It's difficult to try to coordinate things between the two families, but we've managed with some re-arranging.

I've gotten lots of scrapbooking done this weekend! I finally got my hands on the new Basic Grey papers I'd been fantasizing about. The journey to Scrapbook Centrale on Friday morning was bad for the bank account, but oh so good for the creative juices.

Aside from that, Patrick captured some photos of cats sunbathing on my fence in the backyard. How cute is that? Yet another reminder of how much I desire my own cat. Sigh.

In exciting news, I went to the Foo Fighters concert with Prevost on Monday night!! Totally awesome. They are really such great performers, and Dave Grohl is quite the entertainer. He really knows how to work the audience; he kept telling us fun stories, and that we were the best audience of the whole tour... So cool!

In less exciting news, I've been having a lot of pressure headaches lately, so I went to the doctor today. She thinks they're stress related, but still, I will go for blood tests to be extra safe. In the meantime, I have a hard time concentrating, which is annoying because I have a lot of school assignments due.

Did I ever mention how much group work SUCKS? Okay, I'm not talking about when I'm working with amazing people (aka Language Arts hommies), I'm talking about working with people who don't even go to class, don't respond to emails, then blame everything on you when you say that they have to contribute something if they want to actually be part of the group and get a mark. Enough said - I've vented about it way too much. I need LESS stress and MORE peaceful moments...

In somewhat entertaining yet weirdo daycare news, we've had some exhibitionism and voyeurism going on, ha ha. Nothing too serious, but you've gotta kinda wonder... At least I wasn't the one present when it happened.

Okay, going to eat supper. Cheers.

It has been crazy, crazy, crazy at school. Yes, I know I say that all the time, but I really mean it now, with the group projects, unit plans, take-home midterms, and everything else. One thing's for sure: group work is SO annoying!

I am so thankful that I have Wednesdays off to just chill. Most of the time I have work to do, but I got it over with early this morning, had time to train, then Pat and I went out for lunch. What a BIATCH of a waitress we had - she was confrontational, aggressive, and offensive, and all because SHE didn't offer us a choice that was part of the special, and we inquired about it. Man, I don't know where these sun-dried, orange-haired, uptight 50-something French Quebec women come up with it! I'm sorry if I'm sounding stereotypical, but the people involved in my negative public experiences always seem to fit the same bill!

Anywho, we were so insulted that we got up to leave (because, let's face it, who wants to eat where's there's such a shitty atmosphere) but the owner begged us to sit back down and served us himself!! He knows that we go there all the time, and it seems like he's had problems with this waitress before. It went okay after that - we explained the whole situation to him, and he listened very empathetically. We were able to calm down, but we won't be going to this restaurant again during the day, when our normal waitress (who is the the nicest waitress ever) is not there.

Now we're having some down time together. Patrick is resting and I'm hogging his computer. I just had to get a picture of his immitation of me when I sleep. He insists that I steal all the blankets and take up the whole bed! I don't think I'm this bad!

I've been a bad blogger this week, but the reason is that I've been really busy with school, and I haven't been taking many photos either (tsk, tsk, I know).

So the Plattsburgh trip on Wednesday had to be cancelled on account of all the nasty snow/ice we received - I was so disappointed. However, we did end up scrapbooking at Alex's house that day, so I can't complain too much. I really don't know why I don't make more of an effort to bring my camera to crops, however. It always seems to slip my mind, probably because I'm too busy packing my supplies and pre-planning layouts. However, I can show you pictures of the layouts that I made that day (although maybe a little later since I haven't taken pictures of them yet, and it's dark in my basement right now). I'm actually surprised that I got anything done at all because for the past few crops, I've had NO inspiration. Not that I'm not happy to be with my friends, it's just that I seem very dependent on my own "zone".

Work today - ugh. Hopefully nobody will want to go to the library on a day like this, with an approaching snow storm. Right??!! I picture a quiet, relaxed afternoon of chatting with my mom and Julie, browsing the SC site, sipping coffee and choosing books for myself. Please say it will be so! It will actually be weird for me to go back to work since I haven't been there in a month. When I was scheduled to work last time, I got a gastro... I hope I haven't forgotten the new system too much.

Well, time to train my arms, upper back and chest. Must do it now before I run out of time or lose inspiration. But I will leave you with a recent layout. I'm not sure how I feel about the design (and it's slightly crooked here) but I do know that the photo and journaling mean the world to me, so in the end that's all that should matter.

As promised, a picture of my new racks (one is stacked on top of the other):

And some new supplies that I just couldn't resist:

Sunday, March 2, 2008

Sunday already?!! I'm savouring the morning and procrastinating on the Internet because soon I will have to delve into the abyss of school work. Reading week is coming to an end, and I must say, it didn't involve much fun, it was mostly work! What's more, when I go back to school, there are lots of group projects and invididual projects waiting to be started. I seriously cannot wait for this semester to be over!

Yesterday I went to Scrapbook Centrale to get my racks! I will show you a picture of my newly organized scrap space when I have enough light in my basement to take a decent one. I thought I would venture into the store, purchase the racks, and be on my way, but of course I got side-tracked by some new American Crafts papers, ribbons, chipboard shapes, and letter stickers. They were just soooooooo cute that I had no choice but to buy them (picture of that to follow as well). Patrick was such a patient and understanding boyfriend, I have to thank him for that. But we've been informed that after SC moves, they will be right next to a sports store, so it will be a lot better for him.

Anyways, I'll leave you with these. Here's a picture of the ridiculous heaps of snow in my backyard. Yes, that's my shed back there.

And here is a thank you card I made for my mom to give to someone who helped use tremendously while my dad was in the hospital - he let us park in his drive way for free every single day for over a month and a half!
